I'm a jean purist; maybe a connoisseur. I know what I like. Designing blue jeans in this day and age must be demanding given the disparate age groups with different likes/desires, etc.

Steel City Standard Denim hits the nail right on the head for someone who wants a high quality, traditional 100% cotton denim pair of jeans. The look and cut is rugged and streamlined in touch with both past and present styles. The 13.5 oz distressed denim is invitingly supple not stiff. The moderate cut with mid rise, slim taper and a curious hue to the denim make for a very distinctive presentation.

I might have two observations: the designation 13.5 oz. perhaps is done after distressing for the jeans seem to me a wee bit lighter; more like 11 oz. or so. And the even number sizing skipping the odds made me hesitate, but I’m glad I didn’t.

And they are selvedge! I’m very pleased with these Steel City jeans. I know I’ll get another.
