In addition to the street race main event, the Grand Prix invites classic car and motorcycle enthusiasts to bring their vehicles to show curious car fans. Sponsor organizations bring futuristic concept cars and modern race cars from the Indy 500, Le Mans, and other world-class racing events. Additionally, each summer features a Marque of the Year and celebrates a line of automobiles like BMW or Mercedes-Benz.
This year, Porsche has been announced as Marque of the Year.
Forty years ago, the organization that hosts the race was given approval by the city on one condition; that all money raised would go to charity. After connecting with legendary sports broadcaster, Myron Cope, a fellow autism awareness advocate, the organization pledged to donate all proceeds to autistic and IDD charities and continues that promise to this day. Proceeds from Steel City’s tee will also benefit the Vintage Grand Prix’s mission and will help raise funds to help provide residential care, treatment and support for Autistic individuals and those living with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
