In the early 1900s Pittsburgh was built on the backs of immigrants coming to America looking to make a better life for their families. Industry boomed. In the 40s, their country called on those same fathers and sons to rise up against the Nazis and Imperialists. Pittsburgh answered by producing more than 95 million tons of steel to win the war. Pittsburgh became the beating metal heart of America. This city was built with blood, sweat, and steel.
